A Wedding at the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden

The Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden (HSBG) provides a lovely setting for a wedding ceremony; but because it is a living museum, restrictions have been placed on its use.

Please review our guidelines and regulations carefully to help you make your decision. If you use HSBG for your special event, we hope the setting will become a part of your very special memories.

Note: The HSBG is in close proximity to Sea-Tac International Airport. Landings and take-offs occur frequently and unpredictably. The sound of the planes can be disruptive. Please visit and spend some time in the Garden to be sure you are comfortable with the overhead flight noise.

Pricing

The fee for a wedding in the Celebration Rose Garden is $150  per hour, with a three hour minimum. Half of the total cost is due at the time the reservation is made. This locks in the date and time of your event. Full payment must be received thirty days prior to the event. Please make checks  payable to "Highline Botanical Garden Foundation".

Cost includes use of electricity, if required, and one HSBG representative who will be available for thirty minutes before the start of the ceremony, throughout the ceremony to ensure all promised services are provided and to oversee the use of the Garden, and for thirty minutes after the ceremony to confirm that the garden has been restored to its pre-event condition.

Payment also includes access to the Garden for the wedding rehearsal, wedding photography prior to the event, and signage noting that a wedding is in progress.

Deposit
A damage deposit in the amount of 50 per cent of your full rental cost is required at the time the reservation is made. The damage deposit will be refunded in full not later than two weeks after the ceremony, provided the required clean-up is completed and no damage is done to the Garden's plants, paths, or structures. Please make check for deposit payable to "Highline Botanical Garden Foundation"

Cancellation
In the event of a cancellation by the wedding party, written notice must be received twenty days prior to the event for a full refund. Any cancellation received less than twenty days prior to the event will result in a $75 forfeiture of the deposit, as a processing and planning fee.

Inclement Weather
Although rain in Seattle is far less frequent in the summer, you need to consider that inclement weather could occur on the date of your wedding. We strongly urge you to plan for an alternate location, perhaps the North SeaTac Community Center at the Garden site. If you must cancel at the last minute because of the weather, it will still be necessary for us to withhold $75 from your deposit.

Additional Guidelines and Information
General clean-up and attention to the plantings will be done by the HSBG to ensure the site of your ceremony is attractive for your wedding. However, given the changing weather conditions and the seasonal nature of flower displays, the quality and appearance of the Garden changes daily. The Garden's premises must be used as is the day of the event.

Reserving one of the venues for your wedding ceremony does not close the entire Garden. Only your venue will be closed to the general public. "Wedding in Progress" signage will be posted.

HBG is not able to accommodate receptions. You may be able to schedule your reception on site at the North SeaTac Community Center. Call 206-973-4680 to inquire.

Do you have guess arriving from out of town or catering needs? Please contact the Seattle Southside Visitor's Service for information on local lodging, restaurants, catering, entertainment, and more by clicking here.

HBG does not provide benches or chairs. You must rent your own and bring them to the Garden. You are responsible for set-up. No vehicles may be brought into the Garden to transport your chairs. A small hand cart may be used but you must not damage the paths or plants.

Electrical outlets are available. They will be identified for you. You will need to provide your own extension cords.

Although there is parking on site, parking is not controlled by the HBGF and the HBGF cannot guarantee parking. For parking information please contact the North SeaTac Community Center at the number given above.
